Father’s Day at Children’s Etnosoi!
Karaghiozis / Karagöz is a fictional, lively and unruly artist character in the shadow puppet theatre of Greek and Turkish folklore.
When the artist's life is so tight that hunger strikes, Karaghiozis decides to declare himself a musician and singer and takes to the streets to earn a living. With his meowing voice and homemade instruments, he sometimes sounds like a cat in a tight spot, but with his modest skills, he sings songs about life, love and unpaid rent. Although few people call what he hears music, Karaghiozis is not discouraged and sings from the depths of his soul - hoping for dinner that very day.
On Father's Day afternoon, we will travel to different corners of the world in concerts and music and dance workshops led by musicians from the Global Music department of Uniarts.
