Malang Cissokho Quintet

Introduction

Malang Cissokho Quintet is composed of African and Finnish musicians and plays Senegalese dance music and Senegalese modern music based on the Mandingo tradition. Malang Cissokho himself is a lineage of West African traditional musicians, the griot, from Casamance, the original southern part of Senegal. Malang, who has lived in Finland for more than 30 years, was member of Youssou N'Dour's band in Senegal and in Finland he is remembered for Piirpauke, Cool Sheiks, Riddim Raiders and J Karjalainen & Electric Sauna.
