Introduction
Persian classical music. Afshin's performance has a rare approach to Middle Eastern music, flavored with a western music influence, which reminds us of the origins of the guitar. Afshin is among renowned instrumentalists of his generation in Persia and Finland.
Afshin began playing guitar with his self made guitar in Persia in 1996 while he was a setar player in Shiraz youth orchestra. He had a few lessons with K. pourmoghaddam in Tehran. In a few years, he had his debut in Shiraz and Tehran. Simultaneously he participated in Lily Afshar's master classes held in Iran. He left to Finland to study guitar performance at the Lahti Polytechnic with Juha Johansson. He is currently a postgraduate student in Koblenz International Guitar Academy, Germany studying under the guidance of Hubert Käppel.
