The much expected father's day's happening will once again fill the halls and hallways of Malmitalo with multicultural performances and workshops. What will the calabash instrument tell you, what kind of figures will be build this time in Helsky's workshop and how eventful will the shows of the dance group Dupe and Voudou-Land Band be? Fathers and mothers, daughters and sons come and find out!
Voudou-Land Band
Sunny and dansable rhythms from Africa's heart! Vodou-Land Band plays music, based on Western African tradition. The band has Beninese, Togolese and Finnish players, singers and dancers. In addition to different drums, the play acoustic Western African percussions and rattles.Musicians: Gildas Houessou, Felix Adjé, Peter Tattersall, Martine Hakli, Hanna Nore and Chimene Degnenongan.
Dupe Dance Group
Dupe dance group consists of young girls, who dance, sing and play djeme drums. Also the audience can participate on the performance.
Kalebassin kertomaa
Kunkuru has a mission, it wants to have all the wisdom in the wolrdKunkurulla on huoli, se tahtoo kaiken maailman viisauden itselleen.
Si it leaves on it's journey to collect wisdom... But what is Kunkuru? You will find it out in the performance, as well as how much wisdom can be fit calebass and who will save the jungles baboon family from starving. Dancing actress Fatima Usman, drama educator Riitta Kuosa and musician-dancer Richmond Ghansah will take the children to Nigeria dancing, singing and telling the story. The story handles issues, such as hunger, friendship and ingenius of animals.
The performance is interactive and aimed for the whole family - the audience may participate in acting, singing and dancing.
Some of the shows are a part of the program of A French autumn organized by Centre Culturel Francais.
