World Music Club: Sounds of Bagamoyo

Sounds of Bagamoyo is release concert for three records, produced as a development cooperation. With the aid of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cultural co-operative Uulu has produced three CD:s, recorded at Bagamoyo, Tanzania. The first presents African guitar folk, performed by eight young artists. The other presents gogo tribe's musical traditions, renovated by the famous musical family's Zawose Five. On the third record performs 78-year old Ima Myinyi Juma Kakombe with an instrument called litungu.
Danny Zawose will perform in the release concert with accompaniment of Tanzanian musicians, living in Finland. You'll hear and see many instruments rarely heard in Finland, such as Tanzanian mbira, called ilimba and large stringed instrument, called mzeze.
